From my little red tricycle to my blue Schwinn bike equipped with training wheels, I’ve been an avid cyclist since childhood. I started my adult biking journey back in 2000 with the Rochester Yellow Jackets. (Coincidentally, the mascot at my university was a Yellowjacket too).
Under the encouraging leadership of our group’s founder (Melanie) we’d do weekly scenic bike rides around the hilly roads of Henrietta, Rush, Brighton & Pittsford. After a few years away from cycling, I revived my biking activities two years ago. Same bike, new pink helmet. These days you might find me participating in weekly group rides around town, theme-oriented costume rides, memorial rides of silence, historic site-seeing rides and scenic rides along the Erie Canal. This year I joined the Major Taylor Cycling Club. I’m looking forward to “biking for a cause” in support of the PathStone Corporation.
